'I started teaching Yoga 8 years ago after deciding that my chosen profession (PR and Marketing) was no longer for me. I had practised Yoga for about 5 years and found it calmed me and helped me manage a busy and stressful job.' Vicki trained with the Sivananda Vedanta Organisation, a tradionalist Yoga organzation based in India and founded by the great yogi and teachings of Swami Sivananda. Training is based on the ancient gurukula teaching system which integrates the student's daily life in an ashram (yoga retreat centre) as a fundamental part of the teacher training course itself. This allows for a firm foundation on which to build a teaching vocation, self discipline, self practice and an awareness of the true nature of yoga. Vicki is based in Buckinghamshire and teaches general classes in the area.

Simon started practicing yoga in 2002 with Ginny Moffett ( Fire Angel Yoga). Years of playing various sports and working in a physical job resulted in a collection of aches and pains and endless trips to the osteopath. Simon has been teaching Yoga for two years. His classes combine sequenced classic hatha yoga posture work with breath awareness, relaxation and meditation.

Sasha started practising yoga to help ease her stressful lifestyle working in IT and to complement her more conventional exercise options at the gym. My yoga story started when I was 16. Ten years ago I met Danny Paradise and was inspired to start a dedicated vinyasa practice. I have a gentle flowing approach to this form and combine reiki to create a gentle healing transformative practice, For me Yoga means union; that is a coming together of the physical, emotional, mental and spriritual aspects of our being . A yoga practice that brings more light into the body, opens the heart and assists in personal transformation and healing. I have taught Yoga on healing retreats, at college, one to one and have worked as a dance therapist with the the disabled , the elderly, and the dying. I am also a massage therapist, advanced reiki master teacher, shamanic practioner and rebirthing therapist. My yoga classes are designed to heal and transform and to be medicine for the body, mind and heart, helping you connect to the sacred within.

Lynn has been practicing Yoga for eight years and teaching for two. Her teaching style and her own practice is primarily drawn from the vinyasa flow style of yoga in which a fluid flow of postures is led by the natural waves of the breath. It is a style which is welcoming to all abilities and ages. As well as teaching adult classes, Lynn is passionate about sharing the gift of yoga with children.
Practicing yoga can help children feel calm, peaceful, strong, confident and can help them develop skills which they can carry off the mat into their daily lives. In these classes, children will enjoy a playful but meaningful approach to yoga through animal poses, yoga games, crafts and stories. They will learn to be aware of the connection between their breath, body and mind They will develop strength , flexibility and coordination and learn how to relax and feel a sense of inner peace.

Surinder Kaur has studied Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, Spiritual Philosophy, Applied Numerology and Karam Kriya Counselling for 15 years at the Karam Kriya School in London. She has been teaching Kundalini Yoga for 6 years. Through this practice she has become responsible for and committed to the unfolding of herself as a fully conscious human being. This is the greatest healing and one which she seeks to share by teaching the technologies of Kundalini Yoga and Karam Kriya.
Kundalini is the yoga of awareness. It is a comprehensive system of exercises, breathing, meditation, chanting and healthy mental projection. It cultivates our inner awareness and develops the relationship between our own life energy and that of the universe. The exercises and meditations help develop strength and commitment and clear sub-conscious blocks that prevent us from being fully present in our lives. Using sound vibration in the form of chants and the seeds of self-healing are sown, re-minding us of our original perfection. Kundalini Yoga is an invitation to become your highest potential. It is Yoga in the true sense: Union of your finite self with the Infinite Self.

My grandmother taught me and my sisters to knit and crochet when I was 5. She would be 121 by now! Many people feel that the 'feminine crafts' are being lost in the drive towards equality of the sexes, but I kept crocheting while practising as a solicitor, and am proof that you can be a feminist and a knitter. In fact these crafts are practical, creative and therapeutic, and I hope to pass them on to anyone who wants to give them a try.

I started practicing Iyengar Yoga about 17 years ago and enjoyed its many benefits. After a serious climbing accident I used Yoga to rehabilitate myself in the hope of being fit again. Yoga has surpassed my wildest expectations of rehabilitation and brought me to a place that can only be experienced.
