Philippa Gray

My grandmother taught me and my sisters to knit and crochet when I was 5. She would be 121 by now! Many people feel that the 'feminine crafts' are being lost in the drive towards equality of the sexes, but I kept crocheting while practising as a solicitor, and am proof that you can be a feminist and a knitter. In fact these crafts are practical, creative and therapeutic, and I hope to pass them on to anyone who wants to give them a try.
