Fire Angel Yoga has taught Yoga and Meditation in Young Offender Institutes and in a hostel for prisoners on probation.
‘The opportunity for personal growth exits in a prison cell. The Prison Phoenix Trust encourages prisoners and prison officers in their spiritual lives through the practices of Yoga and meditation, working with silence and the breath. The Trust offers support through classes, workshops, correspondence, free books and CDs and newsletters.’

Testimonial:
I joined Yoga as NYAS said it may help me for something to do in my cell and may help my temper. I enjoyed going to Yoga as it gets me out of my cell and have found it calms me down. I feel less aggressive and less stressed since I started. I would do Yoga in my cell if it was big enough but I have found it too small. When I get out I intend to carry on with Yoga as it would benefit me in being less stressed. It would also benefit me in my hobby boxing, with its breathing techniques and flexibility. I am very grateful for all the help from the Yoga teachers for all their teachings and time.

We are looking to expand our involvement in more prisons and Young Offender Institutes.
Yoga and Meditation provide an opportunity to teach Young Offenders techniques for managing difficult emotions in challenging circumstances and an opportunity for positive introspection in order to make positive personal changes.
